Parkview Emergency Preparedness

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have been counseled for many years to be prepared for adversity. Preparation, both spiritual and temporal, can dispel fear. With the guidance of Church leaders, individual members and families should prepare to be self-reliant in times of personal or widespread emergency.

When a disaster strikes do you and your family know what to do? There will be ciaos, but with a good plan your family is more likely to have things under control and be together.

What does a disaster plan look like? Your family needs to have a meeting place, a way to contact each other, and other important family information. Ready.gov has compiled an awesome worksheet for you to fill out. I particularly like the cards that can easily fit in a wallet or backpack. You have to remember that chances are when disaster strikes you won't all be in the same place, and you may not be thinking straight. So having it written where to meet and important phone numbers is a good thing to carry with you everywhere.
